Students enrolling must be admitted to Oklahoma State University. Enrollment is through self-service enrollment in Banner but prior permission to enroll must be obtained from the Office of Individual Study. Phone (405)744-6390, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to arrange this.

Standard Individual Study Tuition and Fees apply and are billed to a student's Bursar Account.

Prerequisites: None, Satisfies, with HIST 1103 (Survey of American History), 1483 (American History to 1865) or 1493 (American History Since 1865), the Oklahoma State Regents requirement of six credit hours of American history and American government before graduation.

If you live in the Stillwater area, exams are taken at the IS Office, 317 PIO Building. You do not need to submit a Request for Exam form when taking the exam in the office but will need to make an appointment.

Appointments for exams need to be made on the IS website exam reservation portal or by calling IS directly (405) 744-6390.

Students living away from the Stillwater area may request proctored exams (refer to your course guide for exam request instructions). Proctored exam requests must be in writing (mail, e-mail, or fax), and the Individual Study testing supervisor must approve proctors. For security reasons, exams are not faxed or e-mailed.
